The most important skateboard documentary in history will probably be shown at the LA Film Festival this July. That’s right, the Steve Rocco documentary. The man who saved (or destroyed, depending who you ask) the skateboard industry.

The official site has a bunch of info about the movie, but no trailer. However I was able to snag it off the production Web site.

These past few day I’ve must of watched 8 of them. Here’s a list of my favorite action movies:

  1. Aliens- This is the second movie and it was done by James Cameron. This is my all time fave’. It has horror, suspense and balls to the wall action. Most try to imitate this formula but fall short.
  2. Saving Private Ryan- I know this isn’t really an action movie but the scenes are really intense. This movie always keeps me on edge even though I’ve seen it like 20 times. The characters make this flick so good.
  3. Empire Strikes Back -The second movie in the Star Wars triology. How fucked is this movie? Luke finds out his Dad is Darth Vader, Han Solo gets all jacked, dam this one was dark and the action is intense. The fight scene between Vader and Luke is one of the best.
  4. Heat- Dude, that bank robbery scene…have you seen it? Oh shit, talk about over the top
  5. Terminator- That scene in the police station is recockulous.
  6. Children of Men- This is a new flick and at first I didn’t want to see it. The story seemed lame. Holy shit I was wrong. The scene in the car (which some film nerds talk highly about due to the camera angles) will have you gripping your seat. The whole movie had me so tense. Crazy action scenes in the end.
  7. Dusk Till Dawn- I rented this movie a long time ago and I had no idea it was about vampires. It’s like 2 movies in 1. It’s a fun ride and Salma Hayek is half naked in the flick.
  8. Kill Bill Vol.1- I had a hard time thinking of which kung fu flick I liked the best. I could do a separate list for these films. I know some kung fu snobs will hate this flick but this movie is brutal and really fast paced.
  9. First Blood- This movie had every kid buying a survival knife with a compass on the handle. Such a good flick. The scene that blew my mind was where he stitched himself up. Holy fuck that is some real man shit right there.
  10. Die Hard- Tons of one liners in this flick.

Did any of you see this movie yet? Holy shit is it awesome. I’m not just saying that cause I played D&D as a kid but this flick is incredible. The reason it’s so good cause it’s dark and twisted. Not dark and retarded like Saw or any other of those shit horror films, it’s dark in a good way. I won’t spoil it for you but it’s a shocker. If you have kids…don’t bring them. Unless you want them crying all night and screaming for you to protect them from the monsters under their bed. This ain’t Harry Potter and the goblet of gobley-some-shit. This movie will have you on edge. The story is great, the action is great, the characters are great. Man; homies, this movie was proper! I know John Brown would back this movie. It’s not a movie it’s a entity. Some thing caught me off gaurd though which I didn’t know… I would tell ya but I don’t want to spoil it for you.

A homie posted it on his site so i thought we should post it as well. DVD is out. I feel like most people, especially corporations, really don’t care unless they can make a buck from it. Watch the film and spread the word. The more we learn the bigger difference we can make. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to wear a hazmat suit just to go outisde in the next 14 years. The X-rays didn’t look pretty. However this chiro dude has been helpin me out by adjusting me a bit and more importantly makin my muscles more flexible. He gave me the green light to start being active again. So this weekend I finally got off the couch…

  • First thing I did, was hit some balls at the always fun Studio City pitch-n-put with some friends. Didn’t do that bad (+4) but wasn’t 100% mentally ready yet. Back to the range!
  • Went on a man-date with Dylon. We saw Ricky Bobby, oh wait, “Talladega Nights”. Funny movie thanks to Sasha Cohen. He had the best part. Can’t wait for Borat to come out!
  • Bought Squarepusher’s entire oeuvre (plus four EPs) at Amoeba because Tom Jenkinson is teh shit.

  • Had a conference call with the folks in Spain and stinkzus in Holland. We talked for almost an hour, totally free! Skype rules.
  • Biked around Hollywood and Beverly Hills on my poseur rig. Enjoyed potholed Wilshire Blvd and blinged out Rodeo Drive. Made a frozen yoghurt pit stop at Pink Berry, which confirmed why the critics call it “Crackberry”.
  • Visited (on bike) the Astro Burger drive thru and ordered one of LA’s best burgers and a small fries. At home I dipped the fries in Remia Frietsaus. Delish!
  • Watched a Dutch movie, that a friend of mine gave me, called “Phileine Zegt Sorry“. Dope flick about an overly jealous girl gone berzerk in NYC.
  • Did not catch any Emmys coverage.
