Dudes and dudettes, what’s up with all the social media stuff? I’m not hating but I’m just trying to make sense of all this shit. I mean, you got twitters, facebooks, linkedin and other crap. Is any of this shit useful? I read a ton of blogs on web marketing and crap like that and they seem to be backing all this stuff and they claim if you don’t participate you’ll miss the boat. The boat to what? I haven’t met a person yet that said to me “dude, I got this sick job through my Linked In profile” or “I got the best info about that rash through a twitter feed”. C’mon, any one got opinion? Here’s one on Linked In.

Fellow Hotcrewerz I’m sorry I have been lame to you. I haven’t posted in so long. I’m on this new shit where I’m refraining from venting. For whatever reason the hot crew has been a venting blog for me. Any hoot, who got an iPhone? Dam that thing looks awesome but you know what looks better? The f#cking Nokia N95. I know Apple has been jacking employees from Nokia but they should jack the team that made the N95. The phone is off the charts. It’s not as sleek as the iPhone and doesn’t have a touch screen but it’s got more and then some. So tell me, do you like your new iPhone?

I think we should all take a break from the world wide trap and discover the joys of the good ol’ days like reading a magazine, having a conversation, getting outside and enjoying a great pair of pants. You smell that? Yeah, that. That smell happens to be my lap burning from all the heat from the new Macbook. Holy f#ck I hope this doesn’t make me sterile, shit, I might already be. After breaking free from the nest yesterday I decided I needed a new set up to embark on my wild adventures into freelance chaos and IW land. The set up being the new MacBook in black (of course). Before I jump into my typical list let me just say I’ve used Apple crap since the IIc. You know; the one that looked like a type writer and the screen was black and green. I’m not a super fan but Apple is my computer choice. Ok enough of that crap let’s jump into some lists.

Why I bought it:

It’s black and being that I’m a creative type I base my purchases on color.
You can pull out the hard drive and upgrade that sh!t yourself (I think only the black one..but I could be wrong)
I needed a computer
It’s black
The screen is HD-gnar. Colors and graphics look super nice.
The computer is fast as f#ck

Apple is Awesome:

The computer is black
It’s easy to trick out the memory and the HARD DRIVE, so key
It’s small and looks so awesome
Even though they dropped the whole G5 chip the Intel chips are no joke and things run faster and smoother

I can see myself in the glossy screen
You have to buy Apple Care ($300)
The sh!t gets hot
First Gens’ always blow

Overall I’m feeling the new little black computer. I’d wait to buy one but if you quit your job and need a computer this lill’ dude is awesome.

People are asking me if we actually work, of course we f#cking work. When we aren’t playing table tennis or writing on this thing we make shit. Above are some things we made for that new Apple Store on 5th Ave. Since the store was so gnarly we decided to make some thing celebrating the gnarly-ness of that store. It’s a pattern based on NY Landmarks and Icons. See, we work…well…sort of.

Dude, what’s with all the little computers? They look so awesome but after the initial excitment wore off I was like, “What the f#ck are these good for?”. Don’t we have phones that do most of this shit for the fraction of the cost? Still though, they are super awesome looking.

Well I went to E3 on Friday with the help of my homies at RockStar (thanks D). Here are my observations:

Sony blew it with that price tag on that new system. They scared everyone.
Nintendo had so much hype with that new system and that pretty gnarly wireless joy stick (Wii). To bad the games will put you to sleep.
PSP was the only saving grace for Sony. They built all these enviroments where you would play the PSP (Ex: subway, living room, park bench…huh?). There’s also a GPS function and other cool crap you will never use for that thing. It’s awesome.
Video game companies have more money than God
Mircosoft XBOX 360 had a lot of buzz but nothing really mind blowing
I watched a skateboard demo on the halfpipe with Hawk, Uyeda and Andy Mac. There were others but when the crowd cheered at that simple stuff (simple for those dudes) I had to leave.
EA had the sickest booth with a 360 video screen room…so gnarly
The Scarface setup was off the charts (that staircase from the movie)
Less girls at E3 than any ASR show. The girls that were there, were hired
Tons of gun games. AND..the army had a gnarly set up outside. You could have your picture taken next to gnarly weapons, helicopters and a heavily armed Hum-V…sort of made me feel strange.

First Week At The New Job

My first week at Incase is over, so being the nerd that I am, here are some stats:

Average travel time to work in minutes: 15
I went from driving 2.5 hours/day to 30minutes/day. I’m gaining 10 hours/week of free time! I get home at nite and actually have time to think about what I would make for dinner if I could cook. Next week I’m ordering “The Absolute Beginner’s Cookbook“
Days I wore my AM90s: 5
Yes, I wore them to SoleTech as well, but this time I didn’t have Brink stressin out that we’re all gonna fired if we didn’t wear 00tneez.
Computers installed: 2
Everybody at Incase is running Mac OS X. However, I got me two sweet Dells! I installed Windoze on one and Ubuntu + LAMP on the other. Combined they are half the price of the laptop that Metzger got.
Times I played ping pong: 2
They take their ping pong a little too serious over at Incase (some dude got $200 paddles), and I kinda suck at it, so I’m gonna try to get them to buy a foosball table.
Saunas in the office: 1
I kid you not, there’s a freaking sauna in the bathroom!
Money spent on lunch: 0
Remember this ordeal? No more! Everyday we get free lunch and eat at a big table like one big happy family.
TPS reports filled out: 0

So with this post, I’de like to thank Metzger for gettin me out of the skate indu$try and giving me an opportunity to work for such a cool company. I’m looking forward to next week and the week after next and then next after next and next… Thanks homie!
