Nokia N95, iPhones and blogs

July 5th, 2007 by Crza under computers, questions

Fellow Hotcrewerz I’m sorry I have been lame to you. I haven’t posted in so long. I’m on this new shit where I’m refraining from venting. For whatever reason the hot crew has been a venting blog for me. Any hoot, who got an iPhone? Dam that thing looks awesome but you know what looks better? The f#cking Nokia N95. I know Apple has been jacking employees from Nokia but they should jack the team that made the N95. The phone is off the charts. It’s not as sleek as the iPhone and doesn’t have a touch screen but it’s got more and then some. So tell me, do you like your new iPhone?

I was actually saving my money for an N95 but then I read some crappy reviews on it and decided that phones just *shouldn’t* cost $500+. I got a Moto Q through Sprint’s SERO deal, $100 for the phone and a 2 year contract @ $30/mo (450 minutes, unlimited data, sms, nights/weekends, roaming, long distance). Pretty sweet deal, if you don’t need to have all the latest gadgets. Not that the N95 is a crappy phone, but I’m just hesitant to buy something that expensive unless it’s *perfect*. (and what’s up with the iphone not having 3G internet?? Thanks AT&T)

  3. Crza Says:

They totally blew it with the 3G omission. The roaming wifi is bad ass except it wastes battery on that setting. It’s hard not to get all caught in the “latest and greatest”.

  4. who? Says:

I am not on the full iphone bandwagon, but must say the N05 is a little soft on the product design front. a wee bit tired?

I’ve actually been eyeballin this T-Mo wifi thing that just got launched. Free calls at home/work and at T-Mo hotspots.

(SPAM!) I don’t know but this is pretty hype. (SPAM!)

Sorry Matt. We answer to a higher power here at THC.

My iPhone is somewhere in transit. I’ll let you know what i think when I get my hands on it. I have a feeling it’s more of a toy than anything but I figure it can’t be worse than my blackjack and I’m not afraid to go along for the life cycle of the product.
Since when do you follow what Mac is up to anyway? haha

  9. Josh Caffrey Says:

Got my iPhone, love it. I’ve been waiting for this thing since 1984.
Also, finally got a Prius, love that also. Thanks for some info you gave me on them way back.

    INCASE question, sorry…
When do these come back in stock?

iPhone has nice interface, but i dont see what cool things you can do with it. What you basically want is an pda/phone combo in one.. the N95 comes pretty close.. embed a GPS receiver in it and its complete!

  12. twistedtrees Says:

Yeah, the no-3g sucks, but if you think the wifi drains the battery, dl’ing at 3g speeds would kill it in less than a day. I think leaving GPS out was another pitfall. But what killed it for me was that you can’t change SIM cards with it. They are under the battery which can’t be removed either. I think being able to change phones & have a backup (weekend) phone is the best part of GSM. If it weren’t for that I would be with Sprint by now. T-Mobile just doesn’t have the coverage yet.

  13. Josh Caffrey Says:

twistedtrees, you can remove the sim card easily on the iPhone.
Just pop a paperclip in the top hole and it slides right out.
