Sirius-ly blows

I bought it cause I’m one of those secret Howard Stern fans (have been since freshman year in college). Since getting the radio I’ve always battled with shitty reception and I mean shitty. I keep the radio in my car and it uses a FM transmitter (remember those iPod transmitters? This is worse). Every day for the last 4 months it has been getting terrible. It was getting so bad I began fantasizing of given the unit a straight upper cut. I came real close but my lady talked me down. I reached the final straw yesterday and decided to cancel my subscription. Of course when you call to cancel they try and talk you out of it. Basically the option they suggested would void my car warranty, fuck that. So now I’m back to “Free FM”. Sure I have NPR but I need some dumb humor as well. Here in LA I can listen to Adam Carolla but Danny Bonadush’ makes me want to steer my car into the divider going 90. I guess the other option is taking the car to the dealer and have them install the radio for $1000…yeah right. I guess shit could be worse. On another note check this.

Just go look for a torrent file and use something like Acquisition to download the file. Shows like O&A, and Stern are tiny files and you get the whole show. The only way I would ever get Sirius or XM is if it didnt require a separate device. I already have to keep track of a cell phone and an iPod all day… Well, until my iPhone arrives.

Hey Crza, milom here from lafixed. Been a fan of stern since i was 11! Same deal for me as jurgen, i cant handle more shit in my pockets, so i torrent it, never miss a show. Use transmission to download (http://tinyurl.com/2tpovl), it can watch a folder for you and start downloading when new files are added.
Here’s a link to the show torrents by date, it even includes some other shows on Sirius. Just so you know: MTT = master tape theater.

Uhm dude…you rule. I just rode in car that had Sirius built in it and what a f#cking difference. This other option is badass. I miss Arty.
