Small Worlds. Skate or Die

oc modern showroom

So I just moved and decided I needed some new furniture for the place. I’ve been eyeing this site for a long time cause they have great stuff and the prices are reasonable (at least for this kind of stuff). Since ebay has recently been good to me I decided to contact this site and make a purchase. I called the couple up and made an appointment to tour their showroom. When I got there I noticed a skateboard in the front. I asked if he skates and he said as often as he can. We then began talking about where he was from. Turns out he lived in Rochester New York (I lived in NYC) and we knew the same people in Rochester. It was the crew from Krudco Skateshop. I know this post is random but I seriously trip out when I meet people here, randomly, and we know the same people back East. Most of the time the common thread is skateboarding and I think that is what trips me out. That shit doesn’t happen with street-basketball dudes or golfers…or does it? Even though skateboarding has become the bastard of what it once was, these little random encounters get me pumped on the fact that I’am (or was) part of a sub-society that at one-point had it’s own secret hand shake, the love of riding the stunt wood.

i had a similar incident…i was looking for eco kitchen countertops, and it turns out that one of the biggest manufacturers of recycled-content kitchen counters also makes an eco skatelite material, ecoramp.
