“Gimme a regaler”
October 16th, 2006 by Crza under archive, vacation, workThat’s how I use to order coffe in NY. “Gimme a regaler”, which meant a regular coffee. You might be asking what the hell is a regualr coffee. Well smart ass it’s coffee with milk and typically 2 sugars. To top it off they put the milk in for you and the sugar and only charge you a buck or a buck-fifty. I just got back from a 5 day stay in NY. It was a biz trip but I managed to visit my bro and the new MoMa (which is amazing). I didn’t have time to make calls and visit the homies but I managed to throw in some karoke. Here is a list of things I don’t miss about NY.
- Subway: First day back I almost got into it with a crazy dude.
- Crowds: This was good and bad. It’s nice to see people on the sidewalks but there were way to many of them.
- Smell that? Holy fuck dude I forgot what sweet-metal-juice smelled like
- Weather: I must of forgot that I lived through 30+ Fall/Winters in NY. I only packed t’s and flip-flops (I’m kidding about the flip flops)
Not bad for a HC list considering we get vicious some times. I tell you this though, I missed a lot of things about NY. I miss all the “mom and pop” operations. I miss getting a egg and cheese and large coffee for $2.00. I miss walking. I miss the accessibility of the entire city. I miss the social interaction (even if it can get sketchy). Overall I miss NY but now that I’m back in LA, it feels good to be home.

Although a way too popular subject for rappers, the LA va. NY debate never seems to get old. You don’t miss the subway? I sure did when I was in LA last friday, taking me 40 minutes to get from Melrose to the 10 down Fairfax.
Accessibility! Nigga, please.

true that. Getting around LA blows! I try to ride my bike but people out here (LA) act like they never seen cyclist on the road. LAme.
