So How Was Your Weekend?

Couple of weeks ago, I found out I got scoliosis after I hurt my lower back pretty bad. The X-rays didn’t look pretty. However this chiro dude has been helpin me out by adjusting me a bit and more importantly makin my muscles more flexible. He gave me the green light to start being active again. So this weekend I finally got off the couch…

  • First thing I did, was hit some balls at the always fun Studio City pitch-n-put with some friends. Didn’t do that bad (+4) but wasn’t 100% mentally ready yet. Back to the range!
  • Went on a man-date with Dylon. We saw Ricky Bobby, oh wait, “Talladega Nights”. Funny movie thanks to Sasha Cohen. He had the best part. Can’t wait for Borat to come out!
  • Bought Squarepusher’s entire oeuvre (plus four EPs) at Amoeba because Tom Jenkinson is teh shit.
Feed Me Weird Things Hard Normal Daddy Music Is Rotted One Note Selection Sixteen Go Plastic Do You Know Squarepusher Ultravisitor
  • Had a conference call with the folks in Spain and stinkzus in Holland. We talked for almost an hour, totally free! Skype rules.
  • Biked around Hollywood and Beverly Hills on my poseur rig. Enjoyed potholed Wilshire Blvd and blinged out Rodeo Drive. Made a frozen yoghurt pit stop at Pink Berry, which confirmed why the critics call it “Crackberry”.
  • Visited (on bike) the Astro Burger drive thru and ordered one of LA’s best burgers and a small fries. At home I dipped the fries in Remia Frietsaus. Delish!
  • Watched a Dutch movie, that a friend of mine gave me, called “Phileine Zegt Sorry“. Dope flick about an overly jealous girl gone berzerk in NYC.
  • Did not catch any Emmys coverage.

So how was your weekend?

Drove to San Francisco, drank delicious guinness and ate delicious curry at the best bar ever, went to a sweet jazz bar / ethiopian restaurant, walked across the whole city, and did some touristy shit. All in all, worth the 13 hours in a car.

Biked to Santa Monica, saw “little miss sunshine”, set up a new board, designed a t for Rob Brink, watched Flavor of Love, Ate at a new sushi joint on Hillhurst. Good to hear you can pedal again Huphz.

MMmmmm…frietsaus….now if only I could find some decent fries around here.

Went to Boulder Farmer’s Market, went shopping, had a spa afternoon on Saturday, went out for a four course meal (always a big event when you have an 11 month old!) and spent a good chunk of my evening last night trying to soothe a crying, unconsolable baby.

(my dad’s got scoliosis too. Genetic, perhaps?)

HELLO FLIKKERS. I LEARNED HOW TO DO THOSE GAY MESSENGER SKIDS ON MY BIKE AT THE BASKETBALL COURT BY MY HOUSE. THEN I GOT MY SKATEBOARD AND DID A BUNCH OF HEELFLIPS. YOU KNOW HOW IF YOU ARE AN OLD POSER TYPE GUY WITH A MESSENGER BIKE, YOU SKATE ONCE IN A WHILE AND CAN STILL DO A KICKFLIP OR A NO=COMPLY BUT YOU NEVER REALLY DO HEEL FLIPS? ITS A WEIRD TRICK. WELL I FIGURED IT OUT AGAIN. IT WAS PRETTY COOL. THEN I RODE MY BIKE DOWN THE HILL AND GOT SOME COFFEE. NOW I’M SICK. GAY1. LOL!

    Friday night = Girls night!
Except instead of going out & partying it up like we’d used to, we stayed home (at Amelia’s house in Grand Terrace, the IE) and domesticated, getting ready for Hannah’s bridal shower the next day. My contribution: deviled eggs, honey drizzled fruit salad, key lime pie + two bottles of rosé.
Saturday: the bridal shower, where I had to play hostess.
Got to see lots of old friends that I haven’t seen in a while, which was cool. ATE LOTS. Seriously, I ate so much all day, I ended up skipping dinner ’cause I was too full.
Saturday night: I made the drive back to Laguna, at which point, I found out my bf had cheated on me earlier that day…on that man-date with Apple! Got home & konked out on the couch.
Sunday: didn’t get out of bed until noon. Walked down to Zinc http://www.zinccafe.com/menu.html#two for lunch, ordered the southwestern pizzette, chilled avocado soup (sooo good!) and an iced latte (my favorite!). Then domesticated the rest of my Sunday away.

I thought only teenage girls got scoliosis?
In any case, here is the info for my dentist: Dr. Meredith Levine, 2080 Century Park East,(310) 286-3111. She’s really nice and friendly and thorough. Good luck!
