tacos, razors, cars and running shoes

I’m tired of hating on the x-games. It’s almost a waste of time at this point. They’ve beating me down to at least accepting it. I ended up going to the xtreme fest and it was what you would expect, retarded. Besides being lame I must say the dudes ripping the street course were really impressive. When I saw dudes like Herman, Reynolds, Leo, some zero dudes, Koston and some other A-lister types I actually stuck around to watch and it was good (at least the qualifiers). I was going to do a list about the Xness but instead I’ll just say that the sight of the wake board tank made my ass clinch so tight you could of stuck a piece of coal up there and a diamond would of popped out. Man it was harsh. Oh, Cole won, Shecky got the number 2 and the Boss got the 3.

When all is said and done…if there’s skateboarding involved, I’ll go…furthermore…the shit was sick. Not defending the X Games here…but at the the warm little center of it all, is skateboarding. I seem to forget, or am able to tune out the other shit when I see a session like today’s goes down…

I must say I was shocked to see the Baker crew and Zero crew in attendance. It wasn’t a bad shock but more like a good shock. I wish the Xgames people would bring more legit sponsors or at least sponsors that participate in skateboarding and all that other crap. I can give 2 fucks about tacos or razors. Oh, element was the only skate presence there which will hopefully set shit off in terms of other skate lurkers partaking in the xness (mad loot though I’m sure). On another note I wonder what a 15 yr old kid thinks of the xgames. I’m about to date myself now but a part of me thought those vision contests and swatch tours were pretty rad…i was really young so fuck off. I wonder if todays kids get the same feeling.

The Onion has a hilarious Infotorial graphic/social commentary on the X-games. But I’m with Crza, I’m still lookin forward to “Street Skate ’08.”

Crza: Where there any Element riders in the games? Saw the Element commercials on TV, not bad actually.
Brink: You still have a LOT to learn about the real interweb. Maybe you should stick to MySpace.
Twisteredtrees: Onion article is funneh. Good find.

The X games “street” looked so weak. Watching those guys run up the ramps with a skateboard in their hands makes me want to barf. Stunt flip to Stunt grind down the Stunt hubba.

that onion article was awesome, thanks TT. Brink, I think it’s ok to comment on your blog posts. I look at it as a conversation via interweb. Matt, I agree, I rather see some real street. If Austin Seaholm was in the contest he would of won. Fuck parks. Huphz, just Nyjah was in the games. I don’t think the other dudes skate…well…Tony and Dallas do.
