The live camera deserted the scene where the scuffle happened but not the off camera…
During the whole game Marco Materazzi, who was responsible to watch and cover Zidane apparently kept hassling and insulting the french captain sometimes with slandering remarks which were ignored by the french captain.
Until after this action where Zidane signal Materazzi, while showing him his jersey sleeve and said “Ordinanza de tirare il costume!!” (stop pulling on my jersey!)
And Materazzi to answer: – “Taciti, enculo, hai
solamente cio che merite…” (Shut up motherfucker you get what you deserve!)
“si e cio…” said Zidane (Yes sure.) And this is the moment where Zidane walks away from the italian defender who continued talking and said in his back
“meritate tutti ciò, voi gli enculato di musulmani, sporchi terroristici” (You all deserve it , you muslims motherfucker, dirty terrorists)
That’s when a tired and mentally fragile Zidane gave a terrible head butt to the defender chest . Action which still is unforgiveable…
Although this raise the issue of having referee decision based upon video viewing.
Either the fifa decided to use the referee and only the referee to make calls or to use video playback..Which until this day is forbidden but still was applied and used in this world cup final .
The outcome changed the course of this game which could have been different…
