Sonicare Toothbrush Review
May 24th, 2006 by huphtur under archive, hygiene, reviewsLast week my buddy Danno was tellin me how he got a one of those Sonicare toothbrushes. I’ve always thought electric brushes were for lazy people and didn’t really work. However, Danno is a bit of a hippie and lives somewhere deep in the woods of Canuckia. And since he’s so stoked about this techmology, I decided to give it a try.

I ended up buying the Sonicare Elite 7500, the most expensive model at the store (cuz that’s totally how you’re supposed to buy electronics.)
Pros
- Only requires a tiny amount of tooth paste
- The built in timer keeps you brushing for the right amount of time
- Placing the brush on top of the adapter magically charges thru some voodoo shit
- Brushes last you at least 6 month
- No need to brush hard
- Looks cool in the bathroom
- “It’s a completely new sport.”–Danno
Cons
- Price
- Tickles (I’m sensitive)
- Teeth feel kinda weird after brushing for a minute
- Don’t take brush out of mouth or you’ll splatter
- Lot to carry around when you go on a trip
Conclusion
This thing rules. It doesn’t hurt my gums and my teeth feel a lot cleaner. Only time will tell if they will turn white again. But so far I’m stoked on my Sonic toothbrush. Oh, and Sonicare == Philips == Holland == SO gonna win the World Cup next month!

Is Holland wearing their Sonicare jerseys this year?

Since paying nearly f#cking FIVE GRAND on my teeth I have a new processs of brushing the chomps. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes. First I use a sonic gum brush (yeah, GUM BRUSH) that is dipped in Listerine. Brushing just the gum line..THEN..floss..THEN..back to the gum brush..THEN…normal brush followed by a tongue scrspper THEN rinse with water THEN mouth wash..F#cking insane but I ain’t paying 5 G’s again to those thieves.

What, you forgot “24 hours of charging”!?
It sucks too much being stoked on something, buying it, and to come home discovering it has to fucking charge for a whole day.

Sonicare sucks ass, unless you like to drop large money on a product that is disposible after the battery dies. Ask Phillips themselves, and the response will be “Sonicare “can” last several years.” No thanks, I won’t buy one again. Lesson learned!

Yup, Sonicare is great and it sucks. I’m on number 3. The battery lasts about 18 months, and then you spend $100 bucks to replace it and throw the old one away so it can leach chem’s into the ground. Fck Phillips. The could easily put out a product with a battery that could be replaced, but that might cut into their profits. I’m hooked, but the MINUTE someone comes out with something similar I’ll buy it. And as a trade-off for using Sonicare, we refuse to buy any other Phillips product. A big FU to Phillips from our family.

I am a registered dental assistant who is currently in school for my dental hygiene license. I am doing a product review on Sonicare so was interested in finding differing views on Sonicare toothbrushes. I would be interested in other public opinions if you would be so kind to share.
Thank you!

Just checking online to see why my brush has crazy black spots on the bottom. I think it’s battery acid. Smells weird and I’ve had it about 18 months or longer. Need to find something similar that has replacement battery and easier to keep clean. It makes my teeth feel really clean, but seems expensive to only work for 18 months.
