All the "core" dudes were asking questions like they were right out of Harvard Business School, while Adidas agreed to to a ~$ 50K sponsorship within the first 15 minutes of our meeting. Each brand though has a shoe that's on a diet. The shoe debate can go on forever. I'm to old to really care anymore but I want kids to support the brands that have been in skating through all of it...not just when the gettin' is good. I understand the logic of making more durable skate shoes like Etnies, DC, and all that - but to me, an old schooler, they feel like boots and look like some raver gear. Maybe they last longer, maybe they are made in some secret testing lab in the heart of California, whatever- they are too big and bloated.
